StocksAg Straddle-Row Dual Wheels on John Deere

Straddle-Row Dual Wheels

With the rise in precision farming, Stocks straddle-row dual wheels are becoming increasingly popular. The main feature of the straddle-row dual wheel is the increased stability gained whilst straddling the row of crops.

Straddle-row dual wheels are often used on tractors and drills planting maize or sugar beet - with wider row widths, extra-wide spacer bands can be specified and custom-built to the required row spacing to allow the use of dual wheels for inter-row cultivation work.

KEY FEATURES
  • Bespoke extra wide spacer bands
  • Custom built to the required row spacing
  • High quality discs and rims
  • Easy to fit
  • Heavy duty flange
  • Any brand/any size of tyre
  • Colour matched paint
BENEFITS
  • Increased traction - less damage to crops
  • Ability to drive in between crop rows (drilling & inter-row cultivations)
  • Increased stability - increased safety on hillside work
  • Decreased compaction - improved soil structure, drainage and plant establishment

ROW CROP DUALS

The centre discs of the tractor wheels may need to be reinforced to withstand the additional loading due to the extra width and consequent leverage.

This is more relevant when using row crop wheels due to the larger diameter discs (more leverage) and higher tyre pressures (harder ride).
